Adidas SLVR Fall 2009: Who Said Adidas Wasn't Classy?

Ok, I didn't even know there was a "black label" version of Adidas until i saw the SLVR collection. As weird as it may sounds, i don't like sneakers or loose t-shirts and all that type of "urban" clothing. However when you are riding the line between preppy/classy and urban you get very nice results. Just look at Kanye West's collab with Louis Vuitton. So Adidas SLVR is, to me, the perfect example that clothes can be dope without coming from a very high-end label.

Soldier In The Making : Hugo Valente

Hugo Mario Valente was born on June 17th 1992. He first started off playing soccer as his father did and almost joined the national team's training camp: Clairefontaine. However over the years, he developed a stronger love for Motorsports and in particular driving go-karts. As the monarch caterpillar turns into a butterfly, hugo went from go-karting to Autosport Academy and now to Formule Renault 2.0 . I post this article to my blog because this young driver is the-next-thing out there believe me, black man's intuition ;-). This season, he already won Best Rookie. While he still raced in Autosport Academy, On November 5th 2008, Hugo scored an incredible victory after starting from the 9th spot. Hugo manages to juggle between high school and the racing, so to us slackers that's a big slap in the face. He listens to a lot of Hip-Hop and parties in the hottest places. So to all Hevin-ists, stay tuned for more on this Soldier In The Making.

Food For Thought

So its 3:17 AM, i took a cold shower on a hot summer night to find some sleep but instead i found food for thought. This phrase came to my mind a couple days ago You Are Who You Can Be. I wont copyright this because allthough i belive i invented it, i must have heard it somewhere else. So these words probably translate the mood I've been in since a week or so. I see inspiration everywhere and anywhere for anything i want to do. And nothing can get in my way for this. ergh... i'm gonna start speaking for all of you out there that will read this (so far its only 2 people haha). Whatever gets in between you and your goal CAN be jumped over... picture this, you are Usain Bolt running a 110m hurdles and every hurdle is an obstacle. The Hurdle just materializes haters, money or anything that you might think will stop you from that finish line a.k.a success. So Yea, You Are Who You Can Be and dnt let anybody tell you "you can't do this" or anything will smith might have said while pursuing happiness. And If Anyone asks you why you are doing this, why you are designing these clothes, why you are making this beat... you don't need an explanation but simply say "Because I Can".

Inspirations : Stefano D. Agostinelli

The source of my blog's name : HEVIN.... He came up with this, Stefano and I met in the fall of 2004 while I studied at Le Rosey. The friendship grew but was ended by his death, the day before my sweet sixteen, on June 13th 2008. He inspired me (along with other people to start this blog) because through the 4 years i lived with him in boarding school he never backed off in front of any obstacle and god knows there were plenty. Anything from journalism to soccer was within reach of his talent. The name HEVIN was invented by him and he was working on a project that i had the chance to see and give my opions on, it was spectacular. Through this blog i guess i'm just trying to make his legacy live on. HEVIN is an acronym for Heaven, Exclusive, Virtue, Intelect and Nirvana. In this blog, i will post everything that catches my eyes and hopefully yours as well. Enjoy.... and remember You Are Who You Can Be
